My God is Peace
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27 (NIV)
Many emotions flood my heart as this year begins to close. I’m filled with joy as I remember all the beauty that 2019 brought. My heart aches for some things I long to change, but cannot. The anticipation of what next year holds stirs within my chest. Amongst all the emotions, I know that one thing will always remain the same – Your Peace.
No matter the highs and lows that are to come, I know Your peace is always with me. It is a gift freely given to me that only You can sustain. The world offers me counterfeit attempts to find peace in other things. The enemy tries to trap me in the lie of control; telling me that if I control everything that I am guaranteed to have peace. Neither of these false methods of gaining peace can compare to Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
