Judy: Fifty Stories for Fifty Years
My name is Judy, and I live in Fultondale. I have two children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
I knew I needed help when I lost another job and was bout to lose my house again. My children said they no longer wanted to see me and prevented me from seeing my grandchildren.
There would be some times at night where I honestly did not know if I was going to wake up the next morning. I said, “that’s it, I’m too old for this stuff. I have nothing to show.”
What’s different now? Every single thing. God gave me life. Before I was just really existing; just living for the alcohol. He gave me life, and now everything is different.
As the Intake and Program Manager, I minister to women just coming into the program. I give my testimony, offer hope, and reassure them that things will get better.
