Darrell Garrett, Chief Operating Officer

• Darrell spent the last 30 years serving the community as a firefighter and paramedic, retiring as a Lieutenant with the City of Homewood. His titles included Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, and Public Information Officer. Darrell served 15 years as a Tactical Medic with the Homewood Police Tactical Unit. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1988 as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic. He holds numerous certifications from the Alabama State Fire College and the National Fire Academy.
• Darrell currently serves on the Sojourn Counseling Board of Directors.
• Darrell has been an ordained pastor since 2011, serving as a pre-marital counselor. He worked 20 years as a student pastor, mentor, and counselor to area teenagers.
• Darrell has been married to Julie since 1989. They have three sons, two daughters-in-law, and 5 grandchildren.
