COVID-19 Updates

To our Foundry Family,

If you are a donor, volunteer, staff, or program participant, we think of you as family at the Foundry, and I’d like to share some words of encouragement during these unusual days.

While we are taking seriously the threat of COVID-19, we are preparing but NOT panicking as we take precautions and preventive measures.

From time to time, the world experiences disease outbreaks that threaten public health.

Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Let’s continue to encourage each other during these uncertain times.

To our Donors and Volunteers, thank you for your support, and I hope you’ll consider a special donation to help us maintain the highest standards of health and wellness for the men and women we serve every single day.

Through this time of uncertainty, we resolve to stay open because this is “home” to our program participants. We’re reliant on friends like you to give resources so we may do so. Thank you for your compassionate support!

Volunteers, we’ve decided to suspend volunteer opportunities until after April 30.

To the families of our Program Participants, please know that we are doing everything we can to help your loved one stay well and be successful in their programs.

Whether they’re in our programs in Birmingham, Bessemer, or at the Foundry Farm in Cullman, please know that we’re taking precautions and rapid response measures to stay well.

At least for the next few weeks, we have temporarily adjusted our programs to avoid excessive gatherings and public exposure. Please follow us on social media for further updates and most of all, thank you for trusting us with your family member.

To our thrift store and auto center shoppers, we plan to provide a safe shopping experience for you yet may temporarily alter our hours of operations (click here for details) at our locations in Bessemer, Cullman, Fairfield and Pelham.

Our team members regularly wash or sanitize their hands and clean frequently touched surfaces and objects.

Just like we’ve instructed our team, we ask our customers to:

  • practice social distancing, where you leave at least 3 ft between you and other shoppers,
  • cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow or sleeve; avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth, AND
  • if you don’t feel well, please do not visit the store. We’ll be here when you get better.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of our store managers.

Remember: God is in control, and I pray the peace that passes understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Thank you for being a part of the Foundry Family!
