Darrell spent the last 30 years serving the community as a fire fighter and paramedic. The last position being an Administrative Lieutenant with the City of Homewood. His titles included Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator and Public Information Officer. He graduated from the University of Alabama Birmingham in 1988 as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic. He holds numerous certifications from the Alabama State Fire College and the National Fire Academy.
Darrell has been an ordained pastor since 2011, serving as a pre-marital counselor. He worked 20 years as a student pastor, mentor and counselor to area teenagers.
When asked how his previous career benefits The Foundry he says “We have the God given responsibility of providing our program participants a safe and rewarding experience while at The Foundry. My combined experience in safety and ministry gives me the opportunity to offer that.”
