Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life. Psalm 119:49-50 (ESV)
If you were to ask just about anyone in our programs right now, you would likely learn this is the most difficult time of the year for them. While Christmas should be a time full of joy, celebration, and family, it’s quite often the opposite for men and women who are in the process of breaking free of life controlling issues. Many have broken relationships with their families. Many are hopeless their lives will ever change.
The Foundry hosts a variety of special Christmas events to create an atmosphere overflowing with love and support for our program participants during this difficult season. But, what makes the ultimate difference is when the hearts of our men and women change as they feel the comfort of the Lord brought by hearing and knowing His Word. Their hope begins to be renewed as they trust the promises He speaks.
The pain may not go away quickly, but this Hope unlocks life in each person and that brings healing as they begin to turn their eyes on their blessings rather than their burdens. As you celebrate the birth of our Savior during this season, pray for those who yet to know the hope His life brings.
Father God, what a glorious gift you’ve given us through your Son. As we go through the hustle and bustle of this season, let us not lose sight of what this season is truly about. May you comfort every hurting heart longing for hope, healing, and restoration. Let every promise you’ve spoken bring life and unspeakable joy to every one of Your children served at The Foundry. In the Name of the Risen Savior, Amen.
